You ever notice how common it is, especially now-a-days, to build someone into an unachievable and unsustainable deity level? We create these heroes. We project impossible images on them. We expect too much of them without even truly knowing them. And in the end, we suck them dry of everything we can, and burn them down. Rinse and repeat.
Sometimes the temporary hero invites the situation. Sometimes it is completely uninvited. But the ability for someone in this position to affect his/her followers and to manipulate them can be disturbing.
